Just when you thought America was getting a little less racist...

It's nice to see Asian Americans coming into their own. I've posted some commericals and spotlighted some Asian American actors. (More to come on that, I promise.) There has been a breakthrough in Asian American entertainment like never before. Yet, in this day and age, there is always someone trying to reverse that progress. Meet the new Alexandra Wallace:

I try to keep this blog as positive as I can. My posts recognize and celebrate a new kind of diversity that has yet to be seen. But with recent videos like Alexandra Wallace's racist UCLA rant (that was eventually banned on Youtube) and the racist remarks about Japan on Facebook after the Women's World Cup, I just can't help but expose this kind of ignorance. Hopefully with enough exposure to this stupidity, people will learn to be a little less judgemental.

Rock band New Heights releases new track 'Nightmare'

New Heights is a mix of Alternative rock and CCM. Photo by Rob Cambell.

Seattle rock band New Heights releases a new track titled Nightmare off their upcoming album Something to Believe In featuring Allkpop's Brian Joo and DJ Yup . The song itself is beautifully haunting with lyrics like “I don’t want to relive, I don’t want to forgive, I don’t want to dream this nightmare with you.” The message behind the song is that sometimes relationships are like dreams, and other times, they are like nightmares. New Heights describes their music as Contemporary Christian Music with a Pop/Rock feel.

Listen to the hot track below:

Can't wait for the new MV! Purchase the new song on iTunes, and look forward to their new studio album dropping soon.

2NE1 reaches #5 on Youtube's Music Chart

After releasing a string of hit singles, I Am the Best, Hate You, and Ugly, it was no surprise to fans (called Blackjacks) to see their lovely ladies on Youtube's front page. Latley, K-pop has been hitting the front pages of Youtube with millions of hits within days of release. However, it was shocking to see an older K-pop video reach the success of gaining enough views to reach #5 on the U.S Youtube chart (breaking the record set by Hyuna's Bubble Pop MV at #11.)

Since it was a year old video, Netizens (aka internet citizens) have claimed that the view counts have been skewed. Some fans and K-pop lovers alike have called fowl, accusing fans and antis for using robots which replay the video over and over to increase the view count. Whatever the reason, it's a great feat for K-pop and especially for these talented girls.
Here's the video garnering so much attention:
